Kamuchawie Lake holds incredible numbers of big lake trout, but had never been fished through the ice until 2025. When Jason Mitchell and crew made the first trip, they landed over 25 lake trout over 35 inches in 3 days, including multiple 40-inch fish and one 45-inch giant.

Deposit and cancellation: we require 25% down at time of booking and have a 60-day cancellation policy. A 2% processing fee applies to all payments made by credit card.
How the trip works
Get yourself to Flin Flon. We coordinate your ski plane flight with Wings Over Kississing from town.
Your guide runs you out by snowmobile to water that had never been fished through the ice before 2025.
These lake trout are aggressive and big. The first trip landed 25+ fish over 35 inches in 3 days.
Come back to hot meals, a hot shower, a wood stove and WiFi to send the photos home.
The outpost lodge
A recently renovated log lodge on the south shore of Kamuchawie, on the Saskatchewan side of the lake. Yes, there is a full indoor bathroom with a hot shower, and the wood stove keeps it warm all winter.

You don’t need to coordinate anything besides getting yourself to Flin Flon, Manitoba, whether you drive or fly. We coordinate with Wings Over Kississing to operate your flight out to Kamuchawie from town.

You don’t need to coordinate anything besides getting yourself to Flin Flon, Manitoba, whether you drive or fly. We coordinate with Wings Over Kississing to operate the flight out to Kamuchawie from town.
Everything except your Saskatchewan fishing license, gratuities and taxes. Your package covers the round-trip flight with Wings Over Kississing, all meals, snacks and beverages (including beer and some liquor), fully guided fishing for your whole stay, all fishing gear, snowmobile transportation on the ice, and lodging.
Yes. The lodge has a full indoor bathroom with a hot water shower and flush toilet, plus potable drinking water. Linens and towels are provided.
All levels are welcome. Our guides work with everyone, regardless of experience.

You don’t need to bring any fishing gear (rods, electronics, etc.). We have all of that at the outpost and ask you to leave it at home to limit weight on the flight. At a minimum, bring:
We provide all linens and towels, so beyond your ice gear all you need is a few changes of lounge clothes for the lodge, layers for warmth on the ice, toiletries and any medication. Don’t forget a phone charger and a small battery pack. You’ll be busy taking photos!
Yes, the lodge has WiFi so you can stay connected with home.
We monitor conditions closely and reschedule or cancel if it is unsafe. Safety comes first. Air travel in the North can have unpredictable delays, and we cannot be held responsible for extra costs caused by weather, airplane issues, forest fires, border issues or natural disasters. We highly recommend travel insurance.
