About the Fishing
How large and how deep is Lake Athapapuskow?
Lake Athapapuskow is approximately 20 x 20 miles and has over 575 islands. The deepest spot on the lake is 233 feet deep.
Are marine gas services offered at the lodge?
Yes, marine gas is available for purchase. All boat rentals include fuel.
Can we fish for other species?
Sure can! We have several lakes in the area that offer multi-species for walleye, northern pike, lake trout, burbot, brook trout, rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, perch, and whitefish.
How far out do we need to go to catch lake trout?
Anywhere between 5 to 15 miles will get you into the laker fishing on Lake Athapapuskow.
Do you sell bait and tackle?
Yes and yes. We have sucker belly, dead baits, and minnows plus a selection of tackle including our famous Lake Trout Jig Kits with ultimate glow technology custom made by Big Sky Jigs.
Ice Fishing
Do we need to bring an auger extension?
Generally, no, but it never hurts to have one.
Can we get on the lake with a vehicle?
NO! You NEED to have a snowmobile or ATV to access the lake.
Do you recommend snowmobiles or quads for ice travel?
We generally recommend snowmobiles only until late March or April. Stay tuned to our social media for snow and ice updates.
Reservations
Deposit & Cancellation Info
We will make every effort to ensure that your trip proceeds on schedule, but please be aware that air travel in the North can have unpredictable delays. We cannot be held responsible for any extra costs incurred due to uncooperative weather, airplane issues, forest fires or other unforeseen political border issues or natural disasters.
We require 25% down at time of booking and withhold a 60-day cancellation policy.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check and standard credit cards. A 2% processing fee will be applied to all payments made by credit card.
Our Cabins
Do the cabins have kitchens?
Yes, our log cottages each have a kitchenette with a burner top stove and microwave plus a BBQ grill on the porch.
Do we need to bring our own bedding and towels?
Nope! All linens and towels are supplied in each Log Cottage. You can read our guide on what to pack, here.
Do you offers meals or a restaurant on site?
Yes, please let us know ahead of time if you’d like to add meals to your package. We offer hot breakfast and dinners at the lodge and packed lunches for your adventure. Otherwise, our on-site Eatery & Alehouse is open daily with a full breakfast and dinner menu available for ordering.
Are pets allowed?
We understand that your pets are part of the family, which is why we’re happy to welcome them to our lodge. A nominal pet fee of $20 per day applies plus a few pet policies to ensure a comfortable stay for all our guests.
Your pet’s stay MUST be approved prior to arrival and we reserve the right to refuse any pet not previously confirmed with your booking. Please call us to learn more about our pet policies and to book any stay with a pet.

Air Transport (Floatplanes)
Do you operate your own aircraft for the fly-out excursions or outpost trips?
Air Transportation Disclosure: All air transport (including floatplane fly-outs and remote lodge access) is arranged through independent, licensed third-party air operators. Bakers Narrows Lodge does not operate, maintain, or control any aircraft or employ pilots for guest transport. Transportation by air is not included in lodge packages unless otherwise arranged with a third-party provider.
