The Lake Trout Trip of a Lifetime Is Waiting at Kamuchawie Lake

Tropy Trout Adventure at Lake Kamuchawie

Deep in the Canadian wilderness, 125 miles north of Flin Flon on the Manitoba/Saskatchewan border, sits one of the most legendary lake trout fisheries on the continent. Kamuchawie Lake is remote, pristine, and loaded with trophy fish — the kind of water most anglers only dream about. Master Angler caliber lakers. Minimal fishing pressure. And now, thanks to our new 2026 package options and updated trip calendar, it’s more accessible than ever.

If a fly-in lake trout trip has been sitting at the top of your bucket list, this is your year.

A True Canadian Outpost Experience

Wilderness Canadian Lake Trout Trip

Kamuchawie isn’t your average fishing destination. Getting there requires a floatplane flight with Wings Over Kississing — and the moment you lift off, you’ll understand why this place is so special. There are no roads in. No crowds. No compromises. Just you, your group, and some of the most incredible lake trout water anywhere in North America.

The lake sits directly on the Manitoba/Saskatchewan border, tucked away in a stretch of Canadian wilderness that sees remarkably little fishing pressure. That’s exactly what makes it so extraordinary. These fish haven’t been educated by thousands of anglers. They’re aggressive, they’re big, and they’re waiting.

Our Kamuchawie Outpost Lodge is situated on the south shore on the Saskatchewan side of the lake, and it’s been completely renovated to deliver the comfort and quality you’d expect from Bakers Narrows Lodge — even this far off the grid. Potable drinking water, running water, full bathroom facilities, comfortable beds with all linens provided, 16-foot boats with 15HP motors, and yes — even WiFi so you can check in back home (or share your fish photos in real time).

The Fishing Lives Up to the Hype — and Then Some

We’ve been saying for years that Kamuchawie is special. But this past winter, we had the chance to prove it in a big way. We hosted a few well-known fishing professionals at the outpost, anglers who have fished some of the best waters on the continent. The feedback? They called it some of the craziest fishing they’d ever experienced.

That’s not marketing language. That’s seasoned, well-traveled anglers who have seen a lot of great fisheries — and left Kamuchawie genuinely blown away.

Lake trout fishing here produces the kind of numbers and sizes that make for a truly once-in-a-lifetime trip. If you’ve been chasing a Master Angler caliber laker, this is where you go.

New for 2026: Package Options Built for Your Group

We’ve worked hard to make Kamuchawie more accessible than ever, and that starts with offering three distinct all-inclusive package options. Whether 3 nights, 4 nights, or a full week fits your schedule and budget, we have a package built for your group.

Every package is fully all-inclusive. That means guided fishing for your entire stay, top-of-the-line gear and equipment, all meals, snacks, and beverages, your floatplane flight with Wings Over Kississing, lodge accommodations, and 16-foot boats with 15HP motors and unlimited fuel. You show up ready to fish — we handle everything else.

Here’s a look at 2026 pricing:

  • 3 Nights / 4 Days — $3,995 USD per person
  • 4 Nights / 5 Days — $4,995 USD per person
  • 7 Nights / 8 Days — $6,995 USD per person

Packages are based on groups of 4 to 8 guests, and all guest spots must be reserved at the same time. The lodge accommodates a maximum of 8 guests, which means you’ll never be sharing the water with strangers — it’s your group, your experience, your trip.

The 2026 Trip Calendar Is Now Live

Bakers narrows Lodge Kamuchawie calendar

Our float plane schedule is built around 3-night, 4-night, and 7-night packages, with trips running from June through mid-September. Changeover days are coordinated to maximize flexibility for your group:

  • 3-Night Trips arrive Thursday, depart Sunday
  • 4-Night Trips arrive Sunday, depart Thursday
  • 7-Night Trips arrive Sunday, depart the following Sunday

The season runs from early June all the way through mid-September, giving you a wide window to find dates that work. Summer lake trout fishing at Kamuchawie is exceptional across the entire season — whether you’re targeting fish in the shallower early-season waters or chasing them deeper as summer heat sets in, your guide will put you on fish.

Dates are already being claimed. If you have a group in mind — even loosely — now is the time to reach out and check availability.

How to Book

Booking a Kamuchawie trip is simple. Give us a call and we’ll walk you through available dates, help you choose the right package length for your group, and answer any questions you have about what to expect. Our team knows this fishery inside and out, and we love helping anglers plan the trip they’ll be talking about for the rest of their lives.

A few things to keep in mind as you plan: you’ll need a Saskatchewan angling license (purchase this before boarding your floatplane), and the float plane has a 50-pound luggage limit per person. Beyond that, we take care of everything — meals, gear, boats, fuel, and guided fishing from the moment you arrive.

This is the trip. The remote wilderness you’ve been dreaming about. The trophy lake trout you’ve been chasing. And a fishery that even the pros say is something they’ve never experienced anywhere else.
