Trophy lake trout, almost no fishing pressure

Big lakers on water few anglers ever see

Kamuchawie Lake sits about 125 miles straight north of Flin Flon, right on the Manitoba-Saskatchewan border. There are no roads in. The only way to fish it is by floatplane, and that is why the lake trout here grow so big and see so little pressure.

Every boat carries 2 anglers and 1 guide who knows where the fish are holding that week. You spend your time fishing, not running the motor or reading a map.

Proof from the ice: on the first winter trip, Jason Mitchell and the JMO TV crew landed 25+ lake trout over 35 inches in 3 days, topped by a 45-inch giant. Those same fish cruise open water all summer.

Nicole Stone Outdoors: Come Along to Kamuchawie
Nicole heard stories about Kamuchawie for years. Watch her fly in from Flin Flon and see why the photos only tell part of the story.
