1. Acceptance of Terms

By making a reservation, visiting our website, or utilizing any services provided by Bakers Narrows Lodge, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, along with our Privacy Policy. These terms constitute a legal agreement between you and Bakers Narrows Lodge.

2. Reservations and Bookings

2.1 Booking Confirmation

All reservations are subject to availability and confirmation by Bakers Narrows Lodge. A reservation is not guaranteed until you receive written confirmation from us.

2.2 Deposits and Payment

  • Deposit requirements and payment schedules will be communicated at the time of booking
  • Payment methods accepted will be specified during the reservation process
  • Full payment terms will be provided with your booking confirmation

2.3 Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • Cancellation policies vary by season and package type

3. Weather and Travel Disruptions

We will make every effort to ensure that your trip proceeds on schedule, but please be aware that air travel in the North can have unpredictable delays. Bakers Narrows Lodge cannot be held responsible for any extra costs incurred due to uncooperative weather, airplane issues, forest fires, or other unforeseen political border issues or natural disasters. Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase travel insurance to protect against such circumstances.

4. Air Transportation Disclosure

IMPORTANT: All air transport (including floatplane fly-outs and remote lodge access) is arranged through independent, licensed third-party air operators. Bakers Narrows Lodge does not operate, maintain, or control any aircraft or employ pilots for guest transport. Transportation by air is not included in lodge packages unless otherwise arranged with a third-party provider.

Air transportation services are subject to the terms and conditions of the respective air operators, including their own liability limitations, insurance requirements, and safety protocols. Weather conditions, aircraft maintenance, and regulatory requirements may affect flight schedules and availability.

5. Services and Packages

5.1 Package Inclusions

Services and amenities included in each package vary and are specified in your booking confirmation. Package inclusions are subject to change based on seasonal availability, weather conditions, and operational requirements.

5.2 Equipment Rentals

  • Lodge equipment rental policies, damage fees, and liability terms will be provided upon request
  • Guests are responsible for proper use and care of all rented equipment
  • Damage or loss fees may apply as specified in rental agreements

5.3 Third-Party Services

Bakers Narrows Lodge may arrange or recommend third-party services. We are not responsible for the performance, quality, or safety of services provided by independent contractors or third-party operators.

6. Pet Policy

Pets are welcome at Bakers Narrows Lodge subject to the following conditions:

  • Pet fee: $20 per day applies to all pets
  • Prior approval required: Your pet’s stay MUST be approved prior to arrival
  • Right to refuse: We reserve the right to refuse any pet not previously confirmed with your booking
  • Additional policies: Specific pet policies apply to ensure a comfortable stay for all guests

7. Guest Conduct and Property Rules

7.1 General Conduct

Guests are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner toward other guests, staff, and property. We reserve the right to terminate the stay of any guest whose conduct is deemed disruptive, dangerous, or inappropriate without refund.

7.2 Noise Policy

Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Guests are expected to keep noise levels reasonable during these hours out of respect for other guests.

7.3 Alcohol Policy

  • Alcohol consumption is permitted in designated areas
  • Our on-site bar and grill serves alcoholic beverages during operating hours
  • Excessive alcohol consumption that affects other guests or property may result in removal from the premises
  • Legal drinking age requirements apply

7.4 Property Damage

Guests are responsible for any damage to lodge property, equipment, or furnishings caused during their stay. Repair or replacement costs will be charged to the responsible party.

7.5 Check-in/Check-out

Standard check-in and check-out times will be communicated with your booking confirmation. Early check-in or late check-out may be available upon request and may be subject to additional fees.

8. Safety and Liability

8.1 Assumption of Risk

Guests participate in lodge activities at their own risk. Activities may include but are not limited to: fishing, boating, hiking, snowmobiling, ATV riding, and floatplane excursions. These activities involve inherent risks including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or death.

8.2 Safety Equipment and Instructions

  • Guests must follow all safety instructions provided by lodge staff
  • Proper safety equipment must be used as directed
  • Age restrictions may apply to certain activities and equipment use
  • Additional liability waivers may be required for specific activities

8.3 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bakers Narrows Lodge, its owners, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your stay or use of our services, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or financial loss.

8.4 Medical Emergencies

Guests with medical conditions should inform lodge staff upon arrival. Emergency medical services may be limited due to our remote location. Guests are responsible for ensuring they have adequate medical insurance and any necessary medications.

9. Fishing and Wildlife Regulations

9.1 Licensing Requirements

All anglers must possess valid Manitoba fishing licenses and follow all provincial regulations, including the mandatory use of barbless hooks. Guests are responsible for obtaining proper licenses before arrival.

9.2 Fishing Regulations

The possession limits and size restrictions listed in Manitoba’s provincial regulations apply to Lake Athapapuskow and surrounding waters. Guests must comply with all catch limits, size restrictions, and seasonal closures.

9.3 Wildlife Interaction

Guests must respect local wildlife and follow all guidelines provided by lodge staff. Feeding wildlife is prohibited. Proper food storage and waste disposal procedures must be followed.

10. Disclosures

10.1 Partnerships

Bakers Narrows Lodge is powered by Dakota Lithium, who supplies our battery systems. This partnership may involve promotional considerations but does not affect the quality or availability of our services.

10.2 Remote Location

Our lodge is located in a remote area where services such as internet, cellular coverage, and emergency response may be limited. Guests should plan accordingly.

10.3 Seasonal Variations

Services, activities, and access may vary significantly by season due to weather conditions, ice conditions, and operational requirements.

11. Privacy and Data Protection

Your personal information is collected, used, and protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms & Conditions.

12. Force Majeure

Bakers Narrows Lodge shall not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, labor disputes, government actions, or equipment failures.

13. Modification of Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the laws of Canada applicable therein.

14.2 Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms & Conditions or your stay at Bakers Narrows Lodge shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Manitoba, Canada. Both parties consent to the jurisdiction of Manitoba courts for the resolution of any such disputes.

14.3 Negotiation First

Before initiating legal proceedings, parties agree to attempt resolution through good faith negotiation.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms & Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy and any booking confirmations, constitute the entire agreement between you and Bakers Narrows Lodge regarding your stay and use of our services.
