Hi
Folks.
I can honestly say that our trip to Bakers Narrows Lodge was the
best fishing trip we have ever had. My father and I have been
to various lodges in different locations over the last several
years, each trip produced new personal bests and all time highs
- this trip was no exception. We planned this trip with Lake Trout
fishing as our only interest, we were not disappointed! We caught
fish every time out, but the highlight came on the fourth day
of our trip. We started out the day with our guide, John, with
talks of a 100 fish day (Lakers). I thought that to be a bit unrealistic
I must admit, however as the day moved on we began to see that
it might be possible. Sad to say though, we missed our target
.... by six fish, we had 94 Lakers
for the day ...... WOW! We would have made our
100 mark if it wasn't for the four master angler Lakers we caught,
they took up over an hour of our fishing time. Believe me we didn't
mind trading numbers for those trophy fish. First came one at
38", than another at 41", the very next fish at 39.25",
finally the last fish for the day number 94 at 42". To say
the least we were excited, not to mention a little sore, but well
worth it! All in all it was a memorable trip, from the fantastic
fishing to the beautiful surroundings, great meals and service,
and comfortable lodging. When asked did I have mixed emotions
about leaving to go home I had to answer "No", as I
certainly felt like I was home. Thanks for a great trip, and wonderful
memories. We're hoping to see you again next season.

"I
have been a guest at Baker's Narrows Lodge 5 times during the
last 3 years and plan to continue coming to this facility for
many more fishing seasons. The facilities, amenities, service,
guiding and fishing are all without parallel in my experience
at fishing lodges in northern Canada.
Lake Athapapaskow is by far the best lake for lakers that I have
ever fished, and the walleye fishing in the fly-out lakes can
be spectacular. In June of 2007, I managed, with the help of our
guide John, to catch and land a 41 pound lake trout, the single
best fishing experience I have ever enjoyed. On a fly-out with
my father, and our guide Eelco, we caught and released over 150
walleye in one day - unbelievable action. As a family, we have
also caught the 5 or 6 largest pike we have ever caught anywhere.
I would highly recommend Baker's Narrows to anyone for any sort
of fishing trip, be it a family vacation or a guy's "fish
'til you drop" weekend.

To
the Baynton Family and the entire staff of Bakers Narrows Lodge:
My
son and I have been on some great fishing trips but the week we
spent at Bakers Narrows was by far the greatest trip of our lives.
We
are both AVID fisherman and our expectations when it came to the
fishing where high. We did not expect however that by the end
of the second day that both of us would have made the Manitoba
“Master Anglers List”, me with a 45” Lake Trout
and my son with a 44” Northern Pike. But we did! Hardly
a day went by that we didn’t catch so many fish that we
lost count. The fishing alone was worth the cost of the trip.
Then
there’s the service and accommodations. When
it comes to describing the service we received from your family
and every member of your staff, incredible, extraordinary, fantastic,
all are understatements!
It
started the second we arrived when Eelco gladly showed us to our
cabin at 12:00AM. Long after the office was closed. Every day
during our stay at least one member of your family or staff went
above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay unforgettable.
All
of the guides were professional, courteous and knowledgeable.
We learned more from John about fishing for Lake Trout in one
day than we could have learned in a year of reading or fishing
on our own. They cooked a pretty good shore lunch too! The food
and service in the restaurant was “Five Star”. Our
pilot was skilled, professional and very courteous. The cabins
were comfortable, spacious and well maintained. I
could go on and on.
The
only thing we didn’t like about our stay at Bakers Narrows
is that it had to end. God
willing, we will see you next year.
Sincerely
David

Let
me start by saying that this has been one of the best fishing
trips I have ever taken. I have been to Canada a few times for
fishing trips and this was by far, the best. The guides were helpful
with locations to fish, and the fishing was very good. Even though
I didn’t use the guides, they were extremely helpful in
telling me of the places to fish.
Even after
I arrived at the lodge with no clothes or equipment (due to an
airline screw up), the people here allowed me to use equipment
of their own. What could have been two days of sitting and waiting
for my own equipment to arrive turned out very well because of
the use of the fishing equipment.
Thank you
for the wonderful service and I’ll be back again.

P.S. Catching
a large 42” Northern on my last day was the icing on the
cake!

| This
is my second trip, and it out-did my first. This is one of the
best run outfits in Canada. You feel like someone special and
are treated like family.
The fishing,
cabins and food are excellent; I would recommend this place to
anyone with or without fishing experience.
Thank you
for a wonderful trip.

I never caught so many fish in
my life (more than my hubby!); five species in one day on one
lake on one plug.
Thanks so much for your donation to benefit the
Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and for making us feel like part
of your wonderful family.
All the best to each of you and your fine staff.
We had a great vacation. We appreciate your hospitality

We
cannot say enough good things. The fly-outs are not to be believed.
Family, staff and guides all deserve “A+” for everything.
Cabins
are wonderful. From a female point of view, this is A MUST. Great
cabins, plenty of hot water for bathing, good water pressure (for
hair control).
You
keep your car at your cabin – so bring all you would want.
Family
and pet friendly – what better way to spend 7 days?
Word
of advice to future guests: do the whole plan – fly outs
are awesome!

Every single person who works at Bakers Narrows
Lodge whom we met was very friendly, helpful, nice caring people
with smiles.
Your lodge, cabins and grounds are in excellent
condition – clean and very well maintained – very
appealing!
Fishing was fabulous, our guide, “Bob”,
was wonderful and polite, and “G”, our pilot, was
such a professional that we felt completely safe on our fly-out
trips (even with high winds!).
Thanks a lot.

I just wanted to let
you know that Carl Hampton and I had a great time at your lodge
this week. Everything was great; the fishing, the food and the
service. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and willing to bend
over backwards to accommodate us in any way. We would especially
like to thank our guide, Bob, for showing us a good time while
fishing.
Again, thanks for a great time!!

Thank you very much for this wonderful experience.
We have enjoyed ourselves. I (we) didn’t know what to expect,
but this has been a very fun and exciting time!
As I said before, this was like coming to a five-star
hotel, nice clean cabins, three meals a day and great fishing.
What more could you ask for?
Your staff has been great and a lot of fun. We
wish them the best is the future. They made our stay great.
To the Baynton Family – thank you for being
wonderful hosts. This experience has really touched our hearts.
I will never forget the smile on my husband’s
face when he caught his Master Northern Pike, and then, he caught
another one!
This has been so much fun – something we have always wanted
to do for a long time and now, we have done it. We will be back
again and hopefully, we will bring a friend with us.
Thank you again; you are truly “special
people”. Good luck in the future and God continue to bless
your family as He already has. We will be telling our fiends that
they need to come here!

The Staff was extremely outgoing and treated the
guest as friends. They all seemed to be willing to go the extra
to ensure that all your needs are satisfied.
The Bayntons are special people and immediately
initiate personal contact with all their guests.
The setting was pristine and beautiful. The fly-in
trips were awesome!!
Although our stay was only five days……friends
were made.
Thanks and God’s blessings to: Rod, Peg,
Brock, Jen, Brett, Nately, Ryan, “Steve”, Bob “the
local”, Clayton, John and the best guide, “Mike”.
